EPL: Sending off was a pivotal point – Guardiola reacts to Man City’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham
Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has responded to his side’s Premier League 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Guardiola says defender, Oleksandr Zinchenko‘s red card was a key point during the encounter against Jose Mourinho’s men, adding that he told his players at half-time to be careful against Spurs.“With this performance from my players, how should I be critical of my players after this performance? I was discussing with my staff and my wife and some players,” BBC quoted Guardiola as saying after the game.
“It would be an incredible mistake to say how bad they are. It is not valid. Football is meant for creating chances and conceding few goals. Some times this season it has happened to us. “The sending off was a key point. We finish with 10 or 11, and it’s completely different in terms of quality. “I told the players at half-time, be careful, yellow cards are fast and quick action, and sometimes to make a decision at that moment is not easy.”
