Graham Potter has said that some of Chelsea 's players had to sit on the floor in the dressing for lack of space during his time in charge of the club. Potter said the squad was bloated and that the dressing room was overcrowded after the club splashed £300 million in the January 2022 transfer window. The Englishman told Daily Telegraph that the new players that were brought in all came from outside of the Premier League and it took time for all to adapt.
Everybody recognised it was a really difficult situation because you can only pick 11 players and if you’ve got 20 players not playing, it doesn’t matter where you are. 'If you can find a coach out there who says: 'Yeah, that’s the best condition for me,’ I’d be very surprised.” Chelsea sacked Potter’s reign after just seven months following a 2-0 defeat by Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
