Former Liverpool striker, Peter Crouch has blamed Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for the role he played in Fulham’s second goal during both teams’ Premier League tie on Thursday.
Chelsea endured a torrid evening on Thursday night that saw them lose 2-1 while their new signing Joao Felix picked up a red card and three-match ban in his first game for the Blues. Fulham’s second goal was a low point, as Kepa was caught in no man’s land while trying to defend a free header from Carlo Vinicius after a brilliant cross from Andreas Pereira.
Rather than coming all the way out to grab the ball or staying on his line to save Vinicius’ header, Kepa hovered in between and was easily beaten. “It is a massive error from Kepa. If he stays on his line it is a difficult header [for Vinicius, but he’s given him an open goal,” Crouch told BT Sports.
