Manchester United have increased the salary of captain Harry Maguire, making it harder to sell the defender.Erik ten Hag is looking to raise money from the sale of players, so he can bring in a goalkeeper and centre-forward.
Ten Hag began the window with a budget of about £120m, just under half of which has been spent on the initial £55m purchase of Mason Mount from Chelsea. In line with the rest of United’s squad, Maguire was given a considerable wage rise after they finished in third place last season.
