Leicester City have been handed a big boost after it was confirmed that they will not be deducted points for allegedly breaching financial regulations.
The Foxes faced charges of breaking the Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules, PSR, relating to the 2022–23 financial year, after which they were relegated from the top flight to the Championship. The Premier League claimed their accounts revealed they had 'exceeded the permitted £105 million threshold' for that year and referred the case to an independent commission. Leicester appealed against the commission's right to hear the case, which was dismissed.
But their appeal against that ruling has been upheld by an independent appeal board, which decided that the period under review ended after the season finished, so the club were no longer part of the Premier League.
