Former Manchester United attacker Dwight Yorke has hit out at the Red Devils for missing the opportunity to sign Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney.
Man United signed the likes of Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, and Sofyan Amrabat during the summer transfer window. Despite the new signings, Erik ten Hag’s side have endured a mixed start to the new Premier League season and have already suffered defeats against Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Yorke believes Man United should have signed Tierney, who left Arsenal to join Real Sociedad on loan during the final week of the summer window.“When you look at where Man United are as a team, we have signed names that won’t get people too excited. I think we missed the boat with Kieran Tierney, as I like his energy despite his injury issues.
“We’ve finally signed a traditional striker, but I think the manager trusts the players he has, and he has to make the most of it. I assume he is happy with the squad, and it will be interesting to see what happens.”
