Arsenal forward, Gabriel Martinelli will not play for the Premier League club again this season.
The Gunners have two fixtures left, away to Nottingham Forest this weekend, before hosting Wolves in their final match. However, Martinelli will not be available for selection, after suffering ankle ligament damage, ESPN reports. The 21-year-old limped off in the 20th minute of their 3-0 home defeat to Brighton last Sunday after a challenge by Moises Caicedo.Martinelli, who scored 15 times in the league, is expected to be sidelined for several weeks. But early indications are he will return for Arsenal’s pre-season in July, assuming there are no setbacks in his recovery.
