Former Premier League manager, Glenn Hoddle and former Newcastle United goalkeeper, Shay Given have blamed Kepa Arrizabalaga for Chelsea’s defeat to

Pep Guardiola’s side defeated the Blues 1-0 at Stamford Bridge to close the gap to Arsenal in the title race.Riyad Mahrez netted what proved the only goal after he tapped in Jack Grealish’s cross as the two substitutes combined.

And Shay Given and Hoddle feel exactly the same way about Kepa’s lack of effort to stop the ball from getting to Mahrez. They believe the ball was so close to the Spaniard to at least get a hand on it. “I think the goalkeeper really should have put his hand and get that ball…Why he hasn’t put his hand to get that ball I do not know but from City’s point of view, a terrific goal, really good goal,” Hoddle said on Premier League Productions.

And former goalkeeper, Given added, “I think it was a lack of concentration. For me he got to catch the ball. It was just a couple of yards away even if he couldn’t catch it. I mean, parried it out of danger, I don’t know if he just lost concentration for a second .”
