He said the England international would be an upgrade on Chelsea's current shot-stopper Robert Sanchez. Ramsdale suffered relegation as Southampton’s return to the English Championship was confirmed following their 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in April.
When asked whether he would take Ramsdale, 26, if he was Chelsea, Foster told the Ben Foster – The Cycling GK podcast: 'Yes, I would. He would be an upgrade. 'He needs to find a team that are going to be a solid, settled Premier League team and you will get another ten years out of Aaron Ramsdale at the top level. 'That is what Aaron Ramsdale needs. There is a really good signing there.
