Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has insisted that midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is nowhere near his best despite scoring a stunner in their Premier
De Bruyne scored his second Premier League goal of the season against Brighton after his long-range curling effort ensured Man City defeated the visitors at Etihad Stadium.
The Belgium international, who already has nine assists this season, finished third in the Ballon d’Or behind Karim Benzema and Sadio Mane in midweek. Yet Guardiola believes there is more to come from De Bruyne, adding that the former Chelsea star knows he is not playing at his top level. “Kevin can be better,’ Guardiola said at his post-match press conference. “He is not playing at his top level. A fantastic goal, but he is not playing at his best.
“He knows this. I don’t have to tell him. His dynamic is not perfect. I spoke with him. The goal was outstanding, and thanks to him, we didn’t suffer in the final minutes.”
