Chelsea and Manchester City are both facing expulsion from the Premier League if they are found guilty of breaching Financial Fair Play, FFP. Nottingham Forest are the latest club to be punished after an independent commission decided to deduct four points over their own breaches of its Profit and Sustainability rules.
Forest are accused of exceeding their PSR threshold by up to £34.5million in the pertinent period. The points deduction has seen Nuno Espirito Santo's men drop into 18th in the relegation zone on 21 points. Manchester City are awaiting the outcome of 115 charges brought against them by the Premier League at the start of last year, with a trial date set by bosses but yet to be officially confirmed.
The UK Sun reports that there has been a warning from three men in the commission who meted out the punishment to Forest, which could spell trouble for Man City and Chelsea. Robert Glancy KC, Mark Hovell and Steve Holt wrote how unlimited sanctions ranged 'from a warning through to expulsion from the Premier League'.
