Arsenal legend Ian Wright has criticised Chelsea’s transfer strategy after the Blues hijacked Arsenal’s deal for Shakhtar Donetsk forward Mykhailo Mudryk.The player appeared to be heading to the Emirates Stadium but despite the Gunners agreeing personal terms with the winger, the Blues came from behind to sign the Ukrainian.Wright noted rightly that Arsenal cannot compete with Chelsea’s spending power, adding that the North London side have to move on.
“It’s one of those, unfortunately, that we may have missed out on but Arsenal canno, cannot compete with what Chelsea can offer a player like that,” Wright told Premier League Productions. “The money they want, Arsenal can’t go there, so you have to move on to the next person simply because we cannot compete with Chelsea.”
