The Enugu state government has warned residents against erecting structures on waterways, dumping waste in drainages, and deliberate obstruction of canals.
In addressing this issue, the state commenced the reinforcement of different means to address the imminent erosion and environmental challenges predicted to occur in the coming months.Onyia said a task force has been constituted to assist the government in controlling and mitigating the impact of the flooding.
“Also, the NSHA, in its annual flood outlook, listed Enugu State among the 224 local governments that fall within the moderate flood risk areas.
