Peter Mbah , the governor of Enugu state in southeast Nigeria, emphasized his administration's commitment to collaborating with the Nigerian Army to maintain security and combat criminal activities. Mbah received Oluyemi Olatoye, the newly appointed general officer commanding (GOC) of the 82 division of the Nigerian Army, at the Enugu government house on Tuesday.
Mbah acknowledged the army's pivotal role in ensuring the relative peace and security currently enjoyed in Enugu state, stating that his administration prioritized addressing security challenges from the outset. He highlighted the government's substantial investments in security infrastructure and personnel to effectively counter criminality. Mbah expressed confidence in Olatoye's leadership and pledged to further strengthen the existing productive partnership between the state government and the Nigerian Army.Olatoye, who also commands the Joint Task Force of the southeast's 'Operation Udoka', underscored his responsibility to create a peaceful environment conducive to socio-economic development. Recognizing the progress made in combating insecurity, Olatoye affirmed his commitment to collaborating with Governor Mbah to elevate Enugu state to greater heights.
