An endangered red panda cub"the size of an index finger" has been born at a zoo in Bedfordshire.

The baby red panda is a new addition to the international conservation breeding programme working to support the species' population.The red panda has now grown to roughly the size of a puppyZoo deputy team leader Grant Timberlake said:"Red panda cubs are surprisingly small when they're first born - about the size of your index finger.The youngster, which was born in June, spent the first few weeks of its life being cared for by Tashi in their nestbox.
