The Citizens Action for Good Governance (CAGG) has appealed to Nigerians to support the Department of State Services (DSS) in the fight against unpatriotic elements bent on destabilizing the country.
This was as a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress , Mr. John Mayaki, yesterday, commended the DSS for promptly obeying the court order about suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria , Godwin Emefiele, who has been in detention since June 10.
The group’s National Coordinator, Nazir Galadanchi, maintained that the DSS under the leadership of Yusuf Magaji Bichi has secretly chased away persons who had conspired to tear the country apart for their selfish interests.According to him, the secret police’s intervention during the fuel and naira scarcity crises safeguarded the nation’s economy.
Meanwhile, while commending the DSS for obeying the court order by Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, which emphasised that the continued detention of Emefiele without trial was a violation of his fundamental human rights, Mayaki said: “We recognise that this case serves as a test of President Bola Tinubu’s respect for the rule of law, but the immediate compliance with the court order by the DSS is a testament to Tinubu’s commitment to upholding lawful court orders...
