The Nigerian tennis community is in mourning mode following the death of the iconic tennis coach who was pivotal in the training and moulding some of the great figures to come out of the shores of the country
A one time top rated female player Ekong dedicated her life to tennis by coaching after retirement. She also officiated after leaving coaching. Her death was confirmed yesterday by her family. former President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation Sank Ndanusa said Ekong’s demise was a blow to Nigerian tennis .Players featuring at the ongoing ITF Open in Abuja were said to be weighed down by the loss of a one time tennis great, who left her legacy in the path of life
