I’ve been writing about video games, television and movies for Forbes for over 10 years, and you may have seen my reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
Fragments helped you, but now? They’re taking some top builds away, starting with the overpowered Lightning Perfume that was allowing players to instantly nuke bosses, with some using it effectively as a cheat code to beat ones they couldn’t get past otherwise. From the patch notes:Fixed a bug that caused the Rolling Sparks and Wall of Sparks Skills to deal no damage while some special effects were applied to the player.
Fixed a bug that caused the Lightning Perfume Bottle and Frenzyflame Perfume Bottle weapons to deal double damage under certain circumstances. So, yeah, between those, that’s what was happening with the Lightning Perfume and you are not going to be able to use it as an atomic bomb anymore, unfortunately. Though I can understand why they did this. But there’s some good news! Two bosses specifically have had exactly one move nerfed. That would be the Golden Hippopotamus and Commander Gaius who in their refights, started way too close to the player.
Changed the placement of the bosses in the re-fight against the Golden Hippopotamus and Commander Gaius bosses to be in the same position as in the first fight.amount of time to react, when that was almost impossibly before. Also, in both versions of Golden Hippopotamus, they changed it so you can dodge his “unblockable bite” attack more easily than before.
So, I can’t say I’m surprised to see all of this, given that these three weapons nerfed here were big outliers over almost all others in the rest of the game, particularly the perfume bottle. But that Bloodfiend’s “bonk” build for permanent boss stagger and huge damage was being used all over the place too.
