The Ekiti State Government has urged the Federal Government to always consider the state in the location of key projects that will have positive impact on the social and economic lives of the people.
The Deputy Governor, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, also assured the people that the state government would not abandon the responsibility of ensuring that its citizens were not marginalised in recruitment and appointment into federal ministries, departments and agencies.
The Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor, Odunayo Ogunmola, quoted his principal as saying this in a statement titled, ‘Ekiti advocates fairness to citizens in federal jobs, projects distribution,’ adding that Egbeyemi spoke in Ado Ekiti on Monday while hosting the Federal Commissioner representing the state on the board of the Federal Character Commission, Chief Sesan Fatoba.
“Ekiti has qualified and competent indigenes, who are eligible for appointment into federal agencies as workers. There is a need for fairness to ensure that they fill their rightful quota as stipulated by law,” the deputy governor said. Speaking earlier, Fatoba solicited the state government’s support to make the FCC state office more comfortable as well provision of good access road, electricity and utility vehicles for the commission. All rights reserved.
