An Ekiti State Magistrate Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has ordered that a 28-year-old man, Akinola Femi, be remanded in the custodial centre over the alleged kidnapping of two persons in Ekiti State.

The two persons — Mrs Temitope Orisan and Miss Feyi Orisan — were kidnapped by gunmen along the Ayetoro Ekiti-Ewu Ekiti Road on August 6, and were released after four nights in the kidnappers’ den.According to the charge sheet, “Femi Akinola was reasonably suspected to have committed the offence of kidnapping of Orisan Temitope and Orisan Feyisola on 6th of August, 2021 within Ido Ekiti Magisterial District.

The police prosecutor urged the court to adjourn the matter so that he could forward the case file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice. The Magistrate, Mojisola Salau, who ordered that the defendant be remanded at the correction centre facility in Ado Ekiti, adjourned the matter till September 20 for mention.
