Abdulsalam AbdullahKayode Egbetokun, the inspector-general of police , has mourned five officers who died in a road accident while returning from Edo state governorship election duty.the death of five officers in a road accident at Karfi town in Kura LGA of the state.
Kigawa said 11 police officers sustained injuries in a crash that occurred at Karfi village, adding that it happened while they were returning to Kano from an official assignment. In a statement on Wednesday, Muyiwa Adejobi, the force spokesperson, said the IGP commiserated with the Kano police command and families of the deceased.
The force spokesperson said persons arrested for electoral offences will face prosecution by the Independent National Electoral Commission . He added that those arrested for other criminal offences will be arraigned in court upon completion of investigations.
