Former Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State is being grilled by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged diversion of funds.
The representative of Bayesla West in the National Assembly, who arrived Jabi, Abuja headquarters of the anti-graft agency around 11:00a.m. was still being questioned at press time.
The allegations, a source said revolved around abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds from 2012 to 2020 when he held sway as governor of the oil-rich South South state. A senior official at the commission confirmed to The Guardian that the ex-governor was in custody. EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, was not unreachable at the time of filling this report.
