Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested five persons for alleged case of internet fraud in Kwara state.
Operatives of the Ilorin zonal office of EFCC effected the arrest of the suspects at different locations within Ilorin Metropolis based on intelligence reports. The suspects are, Stephen Odanye, Abolarin Kayode, Babatunde Muhammad, Adepoju Tomiwa and Akinbamidele Femi.It was discovered that the suspects use their phones and laptop computers to communicate with their victims who are majorly foreigners in order to defraud them of their monies.
Operatives of the commission gathered that the suspects benefited from several foreign currencies deposited into their accounts by their victims.
