The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old secondary school leaver, Rukevwe George, and a 42-year-old, Ifeanyi Okafor, for allegedly being in possession of fire arms and drug trafficking. DAILY POST reports that the State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, paraded the suspects before newsmen in Benin City on Tuesday.

Adegboye said Rukevwe was arrested at a location in Benin City while Ifeanyi was arrested by operatives of Safer Highways during a stop and search operation along the Benin/Lagos Expressway Rukevwe, who attended a secondary school in Delta State, was arrested with one automatic foreign-made double barrel gun and one locally-made single-barrel gun. According to the CP, Rukevwe admitted that the two guns were given to him by the person who hosted him.

The CP added that Ifeanyi Okafor, a driver from Anambra State, was arrested in possession of eight wraps of Indian Hemp and other substances. He explained, that the said Ifeanyi was earlier arrested with three wraps of the substance, but due to diligent searching five others wraps hidden inside a tyre of his vehicle were recovered.
