Members of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria, Edo State branch (MWAN Edo), have praised the exceptional work of its immediate past president, Dr. Adesuwa Urhoghide-Edigin.
The group celebrated Urhoghide-Edigin, who is the current chairman, Strategic Planning Committee of the Nigeria Medical Association , as the MWAN Edo Heroine while commemorating the 2023 International Women’s Day.
Some of her achievements, it was learnt, include increased visibility of MWAN Edo in the state, creation of a functional mini women’s wellness clinic in Doctors’ House, Ugbowo, as well as the conduct of monthly free breast/cervical cancer screening and treatment to the public with support from the state government.
“I also built to near completion in two weeks a women’s wellness centre/sexual assault centre in Irrua, produced and distributed in schools for free a menstrual hygiene question and answer book for all female students.
