The Edo State Government has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the last governorship election, Asue Ighodalo, and other party supporters to return government vehicles in their possession. This follows the establishment of an assets recovery committee by Governor Monday Okpebholo to reclaim government property, including vehicles held by private individuals. Chairman of the committee, Kelly Okungbowa, stated that some vehicles belonging to the defunct Edo Line transport company were allegedly sold and found in a spare parts market in Benin City. The committee appealed to those in possession of the vehicles to return them, emphasizing their ownership by the state government and the significant cost of replacing them.
