The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Kanayo Uzuegbu, has called on residents to celebrate Easter responsibly in peace and love as exemplified by Jesus Christ. This is contained in an Easter message issued on his behalf by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, on Friday in Enugu.
The commissioner also urged residents to report suspected criminals and their activities to the nearest police station or personnel this festive period. He assured of adequate security, adding that he had ordered Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Tactical and Operational Squads of Enugu Command to deploy all the intelligence and operational resources at their disposal.
“I congratulate the good people of Enugu State at home and abroad, as they join other Christians in the world to celebrate this year’s Easter, which marks the crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. “I assure them of adequate security before, during, and after the period of the celebration. “Christ’s voluntary sacrifice of his life for the salvation of man as an act of love is worthy of emulation.
