Motorists of a certain age who fail to renew their licence every three years could have their vehicle seized - luckily the process is easy to complete.

Motorists who've hit the age of 70 are being advised to renew their driving license every three years or face potential fines, according to the DVLA.

In a Twitter post shared on Wednesday, it said: "You need to renew your licence when you turn 70. Do it online now – it’s easy, quick and secure." However, an expired licence isn't a reason to hang up the keys - all that's needed is a renewal. This can be achieved by filling in a D46P application form, dispatched by the DVLA around 90 days before your 70th birthday, or available for pickup at your nearest post office.
