Osun State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has revealed that a total of three hundred and fifteen suspects have been arrested
The Osun NDLEA stated that the suspects comprised two hundred and seventy nine males and thirty-six females, while the illicit drugs seized weighed 4,776.38644kg.
“The society is thus charged to eschew stigmatization of drug users, discriminating against them discourages users from seeking help and making recovery difficult and a burden to the individual, family and society at large. “The abuse of drugs and other unconventional substances has become a significant threat to public health, security and economic development.
He revealed that out of the three hundred and fifteen suspects arrested, seventy five were briefly counselled and reintegrated back to their families, while seventy suspects were successfully prosecuted and convicted.
