Ten persons died while several others sustained serious injury in a ghastly motor accident in Taura LGA of Jigawa State. A resident confirmed to DAILY POST that the accident occurred in Yanfari village, Taura LGA, along the Kano/Hadejia Road.

He said the incident happened when a bus hit a packed trailer with registration number RGN 180 ZC, as a result of which the vehicle somersaulted and 10 persons died on the spot. Spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST. He said, 'On November 12, 2024, at about 2130hrs, a fatal motor vehicle accident occurred in Yanfari village, Taura LGA, along the Kano/Hadejia Road.

'The accident occurred when a Toyota Hummer bus with registration number HDJ 631 YDD, driving by one Sani Mainasara of Hadejia LGA, was coming from Kano to Hadejia, conveying eleven passengers, on reaching the scene, the bus hit a packed Trailer with registration number RGN 180 ZC, as a result of which, the vehicle somersaulted.' Shiisu said the driver and nine passengers died on the spot.
