Former Nigeria goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph, believes Francis Uzoho’s confidence would have done him a world of good following his heroics against Manchester United last Thursday at Old Trafford, The PUNCH reports.
“Uzoho was simply outstanding against Manchester United. He took his chance very well and I hope he continues as it will help boost his form and confidence for Nigeria.”
Prior to the game against Manchester United, the 23-year-old had only played 134 minutes so far this season. He said, “It was one of his best games since I have been watching him and performing like that against a big like Manchester United makes it even more special for me as a Nigerian. “He hadn’t had the best performances with the Eagles, so to be able to bounce back at such a big stage is incredible – the club’s second choice for that matter.
“But he came in and absolutely nailed down the position and kept United at bay until the 93rd minute. It will help his confidence when he plays for Nigeria.”All rights reserved.
