Lim also warns DAP members against squabbling about internal family problems in public.
The DAP has cautioned its members not to waste precious time to question the inevitable transfer of power from Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
At the Penang DAP state convention in Seberang Prai today, the party's secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said no one should question the transfer of power which will most likely occur after the Apec 2020 summit in Kuala Lumpur in November next year. "Don't waste time questioning this transition of power, and don't let there be any quarters who still question it as it will most likely take place after Apec 2020," Lim told the 372 delegates in the convention today.
Mahathir has been questioned frequently on when he is giving up his PM post to Anwar, who is dubbed the"eighth prime minister in waiting". Mahathir had promised to hand over his position but has refused so far to fix a date for the official transfer of power, which has irked some PKR members.
