"To help curb the spread of COVID-19, gatherings at this park are not allowed," an automated voice can be heard saying.
"Please practice safe distancing at all times and do not loiter at this park - stay safe, stay home." The talking, remote-controlled machine was originally commissioned by the national water agency for security surveillance at reservoirs across the island but is now being used as a social distancing ambassador, according to Reuters.
O-R3 has batteries that last for one kilometre of travel, but since being repurposed, they will now be able to travel four kilometres before recharging. Singapore started using the O-R3 robot out in public to warn people about keeping a safe distance from one another if out in public.
