Dismissed NSCDC officers, others arraigned for dealing in weapons

The Department of State Services, on Thursday, arraigned three dismissed operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and three others before the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja, Ko

gi State.

The three NSCDC, who have been dismissed from service, are Ojonimi Samuel, James Ikagu and Abdulraman Omuya. Others arraigned alongside the dismissed officers were Abass Jimoh, aka Big Man; Jamah Suleiman and Shaibu Abdulsalam, aka Nice. They were charged with unlawful dealing in weapons and conspiracy to commit an illegal act to wit; dealing in 80 rounds of G3mm ammunition, punishable under Section 27 of the Firearm Act, 2004.

The counsel for the DSS, Yahaya Olanrewaju, told Justice D. U. Okorowo of the Federal High Court, during the reading of the seven counts that the “1st, 2nd and 3rd defendants were remanded via remand proceedings at the Nigeria Correctional Service, Kabba centre, while the 4th, 5th and 6th defendants are officers of the NSCDC and were released on administrative bail for administrative action, and they were later returned to the DSS custody yesterday .
