The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to discourage monopoly to grow the Nigerian economy. Primate Ayodele explained that businessmen seeking monopoly in several sectors are responsible for destroying the economy. He stated that the unavailability of competition in some businesses has further dampened the economy
of the country. In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele urged President Tinubu to build new entrepreneurs in a way to discourage monopoly which will in turn improve the economy of the country. He said: ‘’The government should encourage new entrepreneurs in businesses in order to improve the economy. 'The top businessmen are the ones destroying the economy of the country, they are sabotage to Nigeria economy, and they are the main people wrecking our economy.
There is nothing wrong in supporting anyone but trying to be everywhere and seeking for monopoly is bad for our economy. 'It’s only one person that wants to be controlling oil, some want to take over the blue economy, some wants to take over the importation and other sectors, they don’t want rivalry, and it will be affecting us.’’ He further told President Tinubu that these businessmen are not after the interest of Nigeria but their own pockets at the detriment of Nigeria’s economy.
