Sheehan limped off injured during Ireland's win over England.
Diarmuid Barron has been drafted into the Ireland squad for their World Cup warm-up against Samoa as Dan Sheehan recovers from injury at home.
Sheehan came off injured during Ireland's win over England at the weekend but the extent of his injury is still unknown and did not travel with the squad to Bayonne. Farrell said after the game that the hooker had lost power in his foot but gave no further details. Jack Conan and David Kilcoyne also did not travel to France as they continue their rehabilitation programmes in Dublin.
Ireland landed in Biarritz on Sunday and trained in the Stade Jean Dauger Bayonne on Monday and play Samoa in their final World Cup warm up on Saturday evening.
