Amad Diallo becomes the first African player to score a hat-trick for Manchester United, achieving the feat in their 3-1 Premier League victory against Southampton. The 22-year-old's impressive performance also makes him the youngest Red Devils player to score a Premier League hat-trick, surpassing even club legend Wayne Rooney.

Manchester United star, Amad Diallo has made history following his hat-trick for the club in their Premier League 3-1 win against Southampton at Old Trafford on Thursday night. Man United's official website confirmed that the Ivorian is the first African player to score a hat-trick for the club and the only Red Devils player to score one in the Premier League at a younger age is club legend Wayne Rooney.

The 22-year-old is also the third Man United player to score a treble from the 80th minute onwards, following in the footsteps of former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Recall that Fortune scored a brace against South Melbourne in the 2000 Club World Championship on January 11, 2000. The South African later netted twice in a 6-0 home win over Bradford City in September, 2000. Ighalo, on his part, scored a brace in a 3-0 win against Derby County in an FA Cup fifth round clash in March 2020.
