The 139 trucks of grains that were sent to Kano late two weeks ago were kept at an open place at the premises of Kano Agricultural Supply Company

Federal Government’s grains meant for palliative in Kano State have been left wasted under the sun and in the rain in the state, DAILY POST has observed.

The Federal Government two weeks ago delivered the food items as palliative to the state to be distributed to the vulnerable and the poor due to the devastating effect of COVID-19 lockdown. However, the grains are still left uncovered at the warehouse of the Kano Agricultural Supply Company premises.A source at the premises who regretted the state of the food items left rotten under the rains, said the consignments have spent more than two weeks unattended to.

When contacted, Chairman of the State Fund raising Committee and Vice-Chancellor, Bayero University Kano, Professor Mohammed Yahuza Bello explained that the evacuation and distribution of the palliatives was slated to commence on Thursday.
