Secretary to the State government, Simon Ortuanya, disclosed that their pardon was sequel to the recommendation of the Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy, and in exercise of the powers conferred on the governor.
Also, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, yesterday, said democracy was people-centered and his government puts the people first in everything they do. In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nweze, he called for greater collaboration and synergy between the people and government, stressing that faith, courage, team spirit, and patriotism are critical drivers for its actualisation.
He said in the last five years of his administration, significant milestones have been recorded and more are in the offing.
