Beneficiaries of the Delta State Widows Welfare Scheme across the 25 local government areas of the state have expressed appreciation to the Governor ofThe beneficiaries, who confirmed receipt of their stipends, described the gesture as a major relief amid prevailing economic challenges , noting that the programme had continued to improve their welfare and living conditions.
Speaking in Asaba, the Coordinator of the Delta State Widows Welfare Scheme, Elder Isioma Okonta, commended Oborevwori for sustaining developmental and social investment programmes aimed at supporting vulnerable persons across the state. Okonta disclosed that the Delta State Social Investment Office would commence a routine verification and update of the social register of beneficiaries on Monday, May 10, 2026, across the 25 local government areas of the state.
