Delta police arrest five suspects for electoral violence

The Delta State Police Command said it had arrested five suspects who allegedly committed various electoral offences during the February 23 presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

Disclosing this on Thursday in Asaba, the acting Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State, ASP Chuks Orisewezie, explained that the offences allegedly committed by the suspects included disruption of elections, malicious damage and thuggery.The police image maker stressed that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.

Orisewezie said the command would continue to ensure peace and security, warning that individual or group found to disrupt peace in the state would be dealt with lawfully.
