The proposed Delta State anti-open grazing law got a boost on Monday as the State House of Assembly Joint Committees on Special Bills and Agriculture and Natural Resources, pledged their commitment to give the people of the State a clean and all-embracing law.
The assurance was given at a public hearing on the proposed anti-grazing law by both Chairmen of the joint committees, Pat Ajudua for Committee on Special Bills and Austin Chikezie Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources. The proposed bill is to make for a law to provide for the regulation of livestock breeding, rearing and marketing and to prohibit open grazing and related matters across Delta State.
Addressing journalists immediately after the public hearing, the Chairman on Special Bills, Ajudua and on behalf of the Joint Committees, told journalists that the joint committees would ensure that major stakeholders were invited to make their input.
