There is fear in Issele-Azagba community, Aniocha North Local Government of Delta State, following the alleged weekend shooting of two herdsmen

A 13-year-old girl and a middle aged man were allegedly abducted by suspected herders. They were freed four days later, it was learnt.It was gathered some residents were relocating for fear of reprisal. National Adviser of Issele-Azagba Development Union Paul Offor said residents ‘were confused and do not know what to do; they also do not know who was responsible for the attack on the said herdsmen’.He stressed that the police promised to investigate the shootings following a meeting with the Obi of Issele-Azagba, Jideuwa Ijei, and Fulani leaders.He appealed for a police station in the community to check kidnapping and other crimes.
Ogegbu decried the government’s failure in fencing the Issele-Azagba Mixed Secondary School, which was attacked in October by suspected herders. They abducted two teachers, and killed one of them. Police spokesman Onome Onowakpoyeya said the victims were released, and the herdsmen were taken to an undisclosed hospital.
