Death toll of Lagos boat accident hits six
The death toll of Friday night’s boat accident in Lagos has risen to six with nine persons still missing, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency has said.
The boat, it was gathered carried 22 passengers instead of 14 and also embarked on the journey at nightfall, in violation of the ban on night trips on the waterway. He said rescuers suspended operation around 6:20pm on Saturday, adding that the search for the nine persons would continue in the morning.“So far, of the six dead adult females recovered at the Ipakodo ferry terminal and deposited in the Ikorodu General Hospital morgue, three are partly identified.
