A statement issued by the Army headquarters indicated that the General Officer Commanding 7 Division and Commander Sector 1, Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Waidi Shaibu, gave the charge on Sunday while on an operational visit to assess the combat readiness of frontline troops deployed in the Gwoza general area, Borno State.
Maj. Gen. Shaibu also tasked the frontline troops to remain courageous, disciplined and professional in routing the remnants of terrorists while urging them to eschew all acts inimical to actualising their operational mandate. The Sector 1 Commander warned the troops that acts of indiscipline and cowardice would not be condoned, hence urging them to desist from substance abuse and be contented with their pay.The Army General equally emphasised that the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign was by no means over.
