Duval County Public Schools is holding a workshop Tuesday morning to discuss creating a mental health plan and to review the student code of conduct.

Teen usage of social media hasnt dropped much despite rising concerns about its effects on the mental health of adolescents. That's according to a new survey from the Pew Research Institute. But the data also found that roughly one in six teens describe their use of two platforms YouTube and TikTok as almost constant.
Teen social media use has come under fire recently as experts warn of its effects on their mental health. In a Monday opinion piece in The New York Times, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy said that social media is a contributing factor in the mental health crisis among young people andwill be banned from having social media accounts
, and 14- and 15-year-olds will need parental permission. Otherwise, social media platforms must terminate the accounts of any teens who are under the age restrictions.
