He lamented the societal tendency to celebrate mediocrity while overlooking genuine contributions. Oyeleye acknowledged Fayemi's legacy as a two-term governor of Ekiti state and a founding member of the Afenifere Renewal Group, who has consistently advocated for policies that advance regional development. He further pointed to Fayemi's tenure as minister of solid minerals, during which significant reforms in the sector were implemented, solidifying his impact on national development.Fayemi, in his response, expressed satisfaction with the renewed focus on regional collaboration and called for sustained dialogue and partnerships in tackling shared challenges. He emphasized that true development is attainable only through collective efforts guided by a common purpose
