The Gunners hierarchy are finding it hard to justify paying Luiz, who has made a few high-profile errors this season – including on Wednesday night against Manchester City, his current wage when he would be 35 by the end of the 2021-22 campaign. “The contract situation has dragged on not because of the will of David or Arsenal to finalise but really the situation that has occurred with the pandemic,” Joorabchian, who is also the agent of Arsenal’s technical director, Edu, told talkSPORT.“[It’s] not just David Luiz’s situation,” he continued. “There are several issues within the whole structure that will be resolved.”
Luiz’s latest calamity display against Manchester City didn’t help his cause among supporters, who took to social media to lambast him. “I take the decision to play, I should take another decision in the last two months that I didn’t.
