Dauda Lawal, governor of Zamfara, says the state is now the centre of banditry in the whole of northern Nigeria.
He said the rising insecurity in his state may consume the northern part of the country if not urgently addressed. Lawal, who confirmed that the abducted Kuriga schoolchildren and a few other victims of banditry were rescued in Zamfara, said the situation has spurred the state to be more proactive in changing the narratives.
