Darwin Nunez has sent a heartfelt tribute to Luis Suarez after the Inter Miami forward announced his retirement from international football. The 37-year-old has scored 69 goals in 142 appearances for Uruguay over the years, having made his senior debut against Colombia in February 2007. However, Suarez has now confirmed that he will hang up his boots on the international stage after Uruguay's World Cup qualifier against Paraguay on Saturday.
' After the news broke, Liverpool striker Nunez, who has played with Suarez for Uruguay over the last couple of years, paid tribute to his international teammate on social media on Wednesday morning. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter , Nunez said: 'You are huge @luissuarez9 !' alongside the blue love heart emoji. He added: 'Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did for me in the National Team.
